Vile OAP spits at blind dog and leaves phlegm ‘all down’ pup’s special coat

A gran claims a vile OAP spat on her blind dog as the pup played in the front garden.

Sandra De Laat, 58, claims the sicko left phlegm “all down” the coat of Maisie, her beloved Yorkshire terrier.

Maisie lost her sight after being diagnosed with diabetes a few years ago.

She was wearing a special coat that lets people know she is blind.

Sandra, from Leeds, told Leeds Live : "I was watching him and he stopped and spat all over her.

“There was so much, I think he heard her barking as he was walking down the road and cleared his lungs.

"I was in my pyjamas but I flung open the door and shouted: 'That's disgusting, how dare you spit on my dog!'

"It was absolutely disgusting. It was all down her face, on her collar and all down her coat.

"It was in her eye too. She's blind and we have to look after her eyes and always clean them so they don't get infected.

"He walks past the house a lot and he knows she's got that coat on which says she's blind. He's supposed to be a neighbour, he lives round the corner."

Mrs De Laat says the spitter was a short and stocky elderly man, with grey hair and he appeared to be in his 70s.

She added: "Everyone is telling me to report him but I think it's a bit trivial for the police who have a lot to deal with. I might tell the RSPCA so they can have a word with him.

"I need to know that someone will talk to him and that he won't do it again. Going out in the garden is all she''s got, she loves it."
