Video shows ex-US Marine hero disarming would-be armed robber in seconds

An amazing video shows a former US marine stop an armed robbery in just seven seconds – pulling the gun out of the perpetrator's hand.

In CCTV recorded at 4.30 am on Wednesday (October 20) three masked men target a Chevron gas (petrol) station in Yuma, Arizona, US, for robbery.

The US marine was standing in line when two robbers burst through the doors, with one pointing a gun at the cashier.

Without seeming to even think, the ex-Marine spins around and knocks the gun neatly out of its owner's hands.

The robber falls backward when the hero fights him to the ground and the crook's accomplice scurries back through the door in shock and flees with a third person.

Yuma police arrested the suspect who was disarmed by the marine and later confirmed he was a minor.

He was charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault and booked at the Yuma County Juvenile Justice Center.

The other two suspects were not caught and remain at large.

In a statement, the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office praised the Marine for thwarting the crime and said: "The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the public, if you see something, say something, and if you have the ability to do so safely, without jeopardizing your safety or the safety of others, do something."

Meanwhile, in the UK, a brave shopkeeper was hailed a hero for wrestling a shotgun out of the hands of a teenage thief who barged into her business.

The woman snatched the gun out of the teenager's hands and then hit him over the head with it until he submitted and stayed at the shop until he was arrested by the police.
