A teacher who sent her teenage student naked photos of herself told him he was "hot" before she lured him into bed and had sex with him.
Amanda Schweitzer, 42, tried to use the nude selfie tactic on at least three students, including the brother of the boy she had slept with, according to authorities in Missouri, US.
The teacher has been convicted of sexual enticement of a student and was sent to federal prison for 20 years at the end of her hearing on Tuesday, reports The Joplin Globe.
It was reported that she had been working as a teacher at the North Middle School in Joplin when frantic parents contacted the school's principal about selfies sent by the teacher on Instagram in March 2017.
Those concerns were sent to the state’s child abuse hotline and the Joplin police launched an investigation.
The mother of two of the boys told investigators that one of her sons later admitted to her that he had been having sex with the teacher.
Investigators quizzed the son and he said the teacher told him in text messages that she "wanted" him. The nude selfies quickly followed and she demanded he send her similar images in return.
Just one before the interviews, the teenager said they had sex in her car by a river. She had been drinking and he refused her offer to share the booze.
A witness who saw them at the campground where they parked said they thought it was a mother and son on a day out.
The Joslin Globe says the teenager then told investigators the second time they had sex had been the day before the interview when he had not gone to school.
Teacher, 31, accused of having sex with student, 14, in her car after nude pics found
He was at a relative’s home when she texted him asking why he was not in school and then came by and picked him up and took him to her house, where they again had sex, he said.
The paper said at the hearing in federal court in Springfield, US District Judge Roseann Ketchmark ordered Schweitzer to serve the sentence without parole and then remain on supervised release for 15 years.
They said Schweitzer had pleaded guilty to the charge on June 16, 2020, in a plea agreement with the US attorney’s office in Springfield that dismissed a second count of transferring obscene material to a minor.
But her legal troubles are not yet over – she faces charges of statutory rape in Jasper County and child kidnapping, statutory rape and statutory sodomy in the nearby Newton County jurisdiction.
