Substitute teacher, 30, ‘filmed herself masturbating in front of Year 3 class’

A supply teacher filmed herself masturbating in front of a class of seven and eight-year-olds, it is alleged.

Amelia Ressler, 30, allegedly "engaged in indecent and immoral acts while in the presence of school-aged children," US police said.

She was arrested and charged with 19 counts of child molestation on Friday after school officials notified investigators of "allegations of misconduct" at Mt Zion Elementary School near Carrollton, Georgia.

Ashley Hulsey, with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, told WAGA: "It appears she was masturbating while the classroom was full of kids.

"We obtained video evidence because she videoed it herself and disseminated it and we were able to get a hold of that evidence."

The 19 counts represent one of each child in her second-grade classroom, cops said.

Hulsey added: "It’s one of these things the kids are going through that they shouldn’t.

"The mental anguish that it’s causing these children and parents, that was our drive behind working this case, getting it down quickly, getting her put in jail as quickly as possible."

She also said that investigators were in the process of conducting interviews with students who were present in the classroom during the alleged incident.

Additional charges could be added based on those interviews, according to Hulsey.

Ressler is currently being held in the county jail. Bond has not been set, jail records show, The Sun reports.

The Daily Star has contacted the school for comment.

A former teacher recently avoided prison over a "malicious" hoax in which he labelled milk bottles as Novichok just a few months after the Salisbury poisonings.

Conspiracy theorist John Ap Evans has been labelled "sad and pathetic" for the scheme, in which he put bottles containing tomato sauce and brown sauce mixed with water at Pembroke Castle, Wales on five separate occasions in July 2018.

Two of the bottles were labelled Novichok, the lethal nerve agent used to try to assassinate Sergei and Yulia Skripal the previous March, and which killed Dawn Sturgess that very month.

Swansea Crown Court heard Ap Evans, 67, was arrested after a secret camera installed at the tourist attraction filmed a suspect, and by chance a police officer later recognised him walking near his home.
