A body has been found in a south London park by investigators looking into the disappearance of nursing assistant Petra Srncova two weeks ago, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed.
Petra was reported missing by her concerned colleague at Evelina London Children's Hospital on Friday, December 3.
The senior nurse assistant is understood to have left the hospital, which is located next to St Thomas’s Hospital in SE1, at around 7.45pm on November 28.
The Metropolitan Police said officers were called by a member of the public to Brunswick Park in Camberwell, south London, at around 11.40am on Sunday December 12.
A body was found and officers remain on scene at the location.
The force is still awaiting formal identification, but said Petra Srncova’s family have been informed.
Earlier on Sunday evening, the Star reported how children had discovered a body in the park.
Officers have reportedly been questioning all nearby residents regarding the incident.
Local resident and mum-of-two Selda Kayam, 36, says her friend's kids found a body in the park earlier today.
She said: "My friend lives here also and she gave me a call. Her friend's children, they found the body at around 11am this morning when they were playing in the park.

"It's quite scary for us, we feel like we're not safe anymore. I'm not really feeling comfortable. I'm not sure if I would take my children back to that park.
"When my friend's kids were running around the park, that's when they saw it. It's really shocking."
Officers believe she withdrew money from a cash machine on November 28, before getting on a bus towards nearby Elephant and Castle, while wearing a green coat and carrying a red backpack.
At this stage, the death is being treated as unexplained.
