Prince William and Kate Middleton’d loved up Valentine’s Day includes sweet gift

February 14 is not a particularly momentous day in the royal calendar. While the rest of the country, at least the one's in relationships, are preparing to enjoy a relaxing evening with a gourmet meal-deal for two, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge may follow suit for once.

Usually, the royal couple spend the day seeing to official events like they did last year, but with the world looking very different in February 2021, they may be able to use this national lockdown to get some time to themselves.

Royal insiders have revealed Prince William's favoured form of Valentine's Day treat is usually along the lines of flowers, a card, a special dinner and sweet gift waiting at home for Kate Middleton.

Similar to most couples, the Cambridge's usually have to fit in their V-day celebrations after work. Given the pandemic has rendered almost everyone confined to their own homes, the day is set to be particularly different for everyone.

In-laws Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have often spoke about their love of Valentine's Day, with the latter's old blog showing content written by the Duchess of Sussex stating I am such a sucker for Valentine’s Day, without fail, every February 14th, I wake up feeling like I’m immersed in a Robert Doisneau photo, waiting with baited breath to be dipped into a kiss."

The former suits actress continued to wax lyrical over how she loves nothing more than the romantic gesture of breakfast in bed.

Even Queen Elizabeth II and husband Prince Phillip could enjoy a romantic evening, this is set to be the first Valentine's Day the pair will spend together since Phillip retired from his royal duties in 2017.

Phillip has been living at Wood Farm on the Sandringham Estate ever since, apart from the Queen, who before the pandemic split her time between Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace.

It remains unclear whether Kate & Will are planning on a night of Netflix on the sofa with a takeaway, but this year's Valentine's Day is certain to be a more subdued affair.
