Peru earthquake measuring 7.2 on Richter scale strikes border with Bolivia

The quake was at a depth of 200 km (124 miles), according to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). No tsunami warning has been issued as a result of the earthquake.

The US Tsunami Warning System said there was no tsunami warning in place.

There were no early reports of damage or casualties.

The earthquake occurred at 12.02pm UTC (1.02pm BST).
