North Metro Fire Rescue on scene of grass fire near Erie

Firefighters with North Metro Fire Rescue are responding to a grass fire.

The fire is in the area of Huron Street and West 175th Avenue near Erie, according to a 3:32 p.m. tweet from the fire department.

At 4:19 p.m., Mountain View Fire Rescue said that the grass fire and “involved structures” is under control.

“No further need for evacuation,” MVFR said on Twitter.

Area residents are advised to close windows because of drifting smoke. Multiple fire departments are on the scene working on the fire. The public is surged to avoid the area if possible.
