‘Multiple passengers dead’ after train derails and crashes inside tunnel

According to reports a train has derailed in Taiwan causing multiple fatalities with many more passengers injured.

There are unconfirmed reports that four people have died and 23 passengers have been injured.

According to local news the train left Shulin Railway Station on Friday, April 4 at 7.11am and was due to arrive at Hualien Railway Station at 9.39am.

It is thought that two carriages derailed from the train and that a car accident between Heren and Chongde in Xiulin Township caused the derailment.
