The Queen's head chef has been made a Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order (RVO) by the monarch.
Mark Flanagan oversaw the dishes served at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's 2018 wedding reception and has led the catering team at other major events like state banquets.
Rather than a formal sit-down dinner, Meghan and Harry's guests were served a selection of bowl food including 10-hour slow roasted Windsor pork belly with apple compote and crackling.
Jamie Oliver recently revealed that he tried to use his reputation as a celebrity chef to secure a big gig at the royal wedding, saying he offered to provide catering services for the ceremony, but his letter to the Sussexes received no response.
Speaking on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch in December 2018, Oliver said he wrote to the couple saying he would "sort the food" and bring the best of "British and American chefs together" for the feast.
He said: "I would have done it for free.
"I like a bit of a moment. I would have got all the American gang over, we've got all the British dudes. It would have been the best brigade of kitchen ever."
He added: "They are very slick at protocol and getting those gigs done, so we probably were a bit renegade."

Flanagan instead catered the wedding, and has worked for some of the world's best chefs including Michel and Albert Roux and Raymond Blanc.

The RVO-awarded chef will celebrate 20 years working for the royal family next year.
Awards under the RVO are in the Queen's gift and are bestowed independently of Downing Street to people who have served the monarch or the royal family in a personal way.
Also recognised is the Duchess of Conrwall's former private secretary, Amanda MacManus, who is made a Commander of the RVO.
Ms MacManus was Camilla's long-time aide and has been a trusted confidant, as well as personal friend, for many decades.
Julian Payne, formerly the communications secretary to the Household of the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, will also be made a Member of the RVO.
