A doting grandmother of three received a large shopping list from her cheeky grandson after scooping more than £1 million on the National Lottery.
Di Foster realised she had hit the jackpot when she received an email saying she had won the big prize, but received an even bigger shock when her cheeky seven-year-old grandson Hayden presented her with a wish list of items he would like from his millionaire gran.
The 62-year-old, from Reading, Berkshire, said: "As soon as he heard the news, my oldest grandson, Hayden, disappeared with a sheet of paper and coloured pens.
"In all the commotion and excitement we didn’t think much of it until he reappeared a little later with a very sweet ‘shopping list’ of the things he’d like me to buy him and his brother Theo!
"I won’t be buying him all of it but Hayden, Theo and their cousin will certainly have a few treats."
Di revealed she realised she was a millionaire from her Lucky Dip ticket over her Sunday morning coffee last month.
She said: "When I received the email saying I had won a prize, I was trying to find what I had won in the National Lottery app and when I came across the £1,049,669 sum I was in complete shock!
"I live alone and have formed a support bubble with my daughter’s family so I abandoned my coffee and rushed over to (her daughter) Kelly’s to get her to check I wasn’t seeing things."
"My daughter had to pour me a glass of Brandy to help with my nerves as the lady on the phone confirmed I was a millionaire – I just burst into tears of joy."
Di plans to buy a house each for her daughters Kelly, 27, and 23-year-old Jodie, preferably close to each other so she can see her grandchildren as often as possible.
She also plans to invest in a cottage somewhere for the family to enjoy staycations while a shopping spree is definitely on the cards.
