A deadly Mexican drug cartel have warned that "the terror is about to start" after dumping a number of dismembered corpses.
The Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) brought five days of terror to the city of Zacatecas, the capital of the state by the same name, starting last Friday (May 13).
At around 10pm, two chopped up bodies were found in black plastic bags in the Colinas del Padre neighbourhood, alongside a narco message which authorities haven't released, according to Borderland Beat.
Then on Saturday (May 14) morning, locals found a third suspicious bag near to a Walmart.
Inside, police found just a torso wrapped in a blanket. Again a narco message was found but authorities decided not to make it public.
Sunday (May 15) brought two more bodies, again in Colinas del Padre. One was found wrapped in blankets on Cumbres Street and another submerged in a pool of water – bringing the neighbourhood's death toll to five in just three days.
According to El Universal, the streets of Colinas del Padre were completely deserted that evening as locals remained home, terrified by the violence.
Elsewhere on Sunday evening, there were shootouts between armed hitmen from the CJNG and their rivals, the Sinaloa Cartel, in Zacatecas' Alma Obrera neighbourhood.

Monday (May 16) saw even more bloodshed. Officers arrived at the La Fayuca flea market (in the Gustavo Díaz Ordaz neighbourhood) at around 7.30am.
Cartel hitmen had placed dismembered bodies there overnight, with two more black plastic bags found containing both torsos and limbs belonging to a male and a female.
A narco message at the scene threatened police, "snitches" and oil pipeline thieves in the area.

Later on Sunday, two white chests were found near to Pirules Street in Zacatecas, containing two decapitated human heads.
The CJNG had even used a black marker pen to write their infamous initials on the body parts.
Another narco message was found there, pictured before authorities could take it away. The chilling message read: "Zacatecas has only one owner. Get Ready. The terror is about to start. CJNG."
