Denver will see mostly sunny skies for the Fourth of July — just be ready to dash inside during a few potential afternoon thunderstorms.
The region can expect sunshine with a high of about 93 degrees until about 2 p.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service at Boulder. After that, there’s a 20-30% chance of rain and thunderstorms throughout the metro area, according to the weather service.
Some thunderstorms could bring brief heavy rain in northeast and north central Colorado, and there’s a moderate threat for flash flooding in burn areas.
Skies in Denver will likely be cloudy at the start of the night — the 20% chance of rain continues until about 11 p.m. — but will gradually clear as the night wears on.
