A cruel stepmother killed her husband's young son by putting him in a bath filled with boiling water, a court has heard.
The woman murdered the two-year-old after a furious row with her husband over the children.
She was enraged after the father asked her to take care of his two youngsters, aged four and two, from another relationship.
According to court files, she decided to "take revenge" for being forced to care for the kids by killing her husband's toddler son.
The woman, whose name has not been revealed, was jailed for 20 years for the horrifying crime in an unidentified region of Jordan on October 1, 2018.
A court heard the murder was the last horrific step in a catalogue of abuse of the children by the woman, with court papers noting she "would often beat up the children and mistreat them".
Her sentence has now been upheld by the country's highest court after she launched an appeal.
Jordan's Supreme Court ruled that it was accepted that the stepmother poured boiling water into a bathtub and put the two-year-old boy inside.
She removed him when the youngster started screaming, and he was taken to a nearby hospital with first degree burns, according to the court papers.
The boy died a fortnight later from his injuries.
She was jailed in November 2019 by a lower court but her legal team challenged the ruling.
The Supreme Court recently upheld a 20-year sentence, ruling that the defendant was handed the appropriate sentence for killing the boy.
