Bombshell book claims Meghan Markle wanted to be rejected by public

A bombshell new book has claimed that Meghan Markle actually wanted to feel rejected by the Royal Family and members of the public.

The claims come as an ex-staffer spoke of the "narrative" Meghan was trying to gauge, with the Duchess of Sussex reportedly "obsessed" with the rejection at the time.

The book, titled Extracts of Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind The Crown by Valentine Low, explained the need for rejection that the Duchess of Sussex appears to have gauged during her time with The Firm.

It is there that the claims of wanting "rejection" were aired after an ex-staffer spoke of her and her team.

Low's book alleges that aides came to believe that Meghan's departure from the Royal Family was actually premeditated and a financial decision.

The book reads: "One of [her] concerns was whether she was going to be able to make money for herself."

One ex-staffer spoke to author Low, saying: "'She wanted to be rejected, because she was obsessed with that narrative from day one.'"

But it would also appear that the teams working behind the scenes believed they were "played", and that the rather "cynical" outcome of Meghan's actions was concern from the Royal Family over Meghan's happiness.

  • Meghan's staff 'branded her a sociopath and called themselves Sussex Survivors'

The book continued: "This was inevitable: HR is there to deal with employee issues, not members of the Royal Family. Meghan would presumably have known that, so what was she doing there? Laying a trail of evidence, would be the cynical answer."

A former staffer said: "Everyone knew that the institution would be judged by her happiness. The mistake they made was thinking that she wanted to be happy."

Aides for Meghan are said to have grown disillusioned and suspected her pleas were part of a strategy designed to facilitate her departure, Daily Mail reported.
