Britain’s glorious sunshine is primed to remain with temperatures set to climb once again to new highs this weekend. BBC weatherwoman Carol Kirkwood has forecasted a band of high pressure to usher in a hot and humid weekend. The meteorologist told BBC Breakfast viewers that temperatures on Saturday are likely to be close to the 30-degree mark with added humidity making for sweltering conditions.
Ms Kirkwood said: “As we head into the weekend high pressure starts to build across us once again.
“Things settle down and it will be hot for some of us and also humid for most of us.
“So how does that translate into temperatures?
“To give you a rough idea of what we are expecting this is it,” she added pointing to an orange and red weather map.

She said: “It is a mild start to the day today some of us already at 17 degrees.
“And as we go through the next few days we hang on to some patchy rain in the north and the west and also some drizzle.
“This morning we actually have that combination. We have got the rain coming in across Northern Ireland and Scotland and we have got drizzle across the western coast and Wales.
“And today we are looking at these kinds of temperatures, still humid still about 20, 21 degrees in the west despite all this cloud and as we move into central and eastern areas we will see some sunshine today, we are looking between 23 and 26 degrees.”
